Here's a great video about the issues of being young and in the sun! Ways to prevent melanoma; wear sunscreen! Very well done. Check it out:

Flickr Account
Decided to check out flickr and see what it's all about. Used to be hesitant about copyrights and what not, but seems safe enough. It seems like a good organized way to display your best works. I'm not going for the paying account, perhaps in the future. But check it out as well if you'd like! Still have a bunch to upload to it, but trying to balance a bunch of things right now. Enjoy:

North Pole Speed Record Update
I had blogged about Ben Saunder's solo voyage to the North Pole a few weeks ago, Arctic Voyage, and wanted to write an update on his journey. Weather conditions delayed his departure, but he waited for a window to get his trek underway. Unfortunately, the weather never changed in time for him to make a safe journey to the North Pole. With the increase in temperatures, the pack ice begins to melt causing any trekking unsafe and irresponsible. Ben Saunders is sitting out this year, but is already making plans for a solo 1,800 mile journey on foot to the South Pole. This would become the longest unsupported polar journey in history. Best of luck to you Ben. And stay tuned for his upcoming mission.
A great quote showing Ben's optimistic attitude:
“If you succeed in everything you’re doing, you’re attempting things that are too easy“
-Warren Buffett
Here's his closing video for the North Pole:

Terje Sorgjerd
Terje Sorgjerd is a landscape cinematographer as well as a photographer; his work is an absolute inspiration. He has two videos on vimeo that just blew me away. The colors, subjects, and shots are all exquisite. Be sure you take time to watch both of these videos. I promise you won't regret it. If these videos don't make you appreciate Mother Nature, I don't know what will.
This first video was shot on the highest peak in Spain, El Teide. There are many shots of the Milky Way. The colors are unbelievable.
This second video is too quick in my opinion. When you watch it, you'll understand. This video completely mesmerizes me. The video is a sequence of time lapses of a great aurora borealis.

Ocean Requiem
If you enjoy underwater videos of sea life with relaxing music, check this video out. It was supposed to be a deterrent film to using gill nets and overfishing. Filmed by Howard Hall, an amazing underwater cinematographer. Reminds me of scuba diving in Belize! Seeing life underwater is one the most amazing things to witness. Get a little taste:

Couldn't not share this other video by Sean Stiegemeier. The locations are from all over the world including Prague, Japan, Oregon, California, and more. His first time creating a legitimate time lapse. His talent and skill is unbelievable. Enjoy:
